Edmund Bu

Hi, I'm Edmund! I dream of flourishing futures for humanity. Towards this end, I am broadly interested in investigating how we can beneficially integrate AI systems into society while ensuring their reliability and transparency.

Over the summer, I'll be working on social (vision-language) navigation, supported by UCSD JSOE's IDEA scholarship. This past academic year, I joined Prof. Xiaolong Wang's robotics group and founded a student org dedicated to AI alignment. Before that, I spent a summer researching multimodal interpretability at the UChicago XLab fellowship.

In my free time, I enjoy lifting weights, taking photos, and climbing plastic rocks.
